This innovative hub was designed to meet the growing demand for advanced digital skills, preparing graduates for highly skilled roles, supporting companies in upskilling their staff, and enabling more flexible and inclusive study programmes.
As a strategic digital partner for the East Midlands Chamber of Commerce and a delivery partner for the Leicester, Leicestershire Economic Partnership’s Digital Skills Programme, DMU is at the forefront of digital education and innovation.

The Digital Technology Learning Hub features brand-new facilities equipped with industry-standard hardware and software. Our newly equipped virtual production suite, media labs, audio, TV, and broadcast facilities provide the perfect environment for aspiring filmmakers, music producers, and multimedia innovators.
In addition to its creative technologies, we also offer advanced computing facilities, including a private cloud infrastructure that enables students in Cyber Security, AI, Data Analytics, and Data Science to engage with real-world scenarios. The Hub also features a Cyber Defence Training Network (SCADA), providing learners with opportunities to develop expertise in cyber defence and resilience through training on a custom version of an industrial network.

- TV Production Studios – Our multi-camera facility enables students to develop industry-standard techniques and practices covering all areas of television production, from camera work, directing and vision mixing, to presenting, sound and live streaming.
- Content Studio - A multifunctional space complete with lighting rig and backdrops, suitable for creating all forms of media content.
- VFX Lab - Our main post production studio, featuring a full 3D motion capture volume for digital characters and an infinity wall green screen for industry-standard keying and background replacement workflows.
- Production Lab – Featuring cutting edge AV and the latest creative apps, the Production Lab is the perfect place for students to bring their media content to life!
- Virtual Production Studio - Our bespoke Virtual Production studio space with a ultra-high definition LED video wall and industry-standard 12k camera tracking system to seamlessly blend practical filming workflows with virtual environments.
- Image Capture Studio - The image capture studio features professional standard flash lighting with high quality photographic backdrops and the latest mirrorless cameras to give students the best opportunity to create high quality imagery for portraiture, still life and commercial product photography.
- CTS/Audio studios - Our audio recording studios are equipped with a variety of high-end equipment from pro manufacturers such as SSL and Neve. Two live spaces are fully equipped with a range of professional microphones, supplying everything needed to bring your audio productions to the next level.
